A third consecutive year of improvement in lost-time injury frequency, with process-safety near-miss reporting up sharply.
Our rolling twelve-month lost-time injury frequency stands at 0.14 per 200,000 hours worked, against 0.19 a year ago and 0.31 in 2022.
Improvement in a metric like this is rarely the result of one initiative. The bulk of the movement traces back to three things: a change in how near-misses are reported, a rebuild of the permit-to-work process, and a decision to stop treating contractor hours as a separate statistical category.
Near-miss reports across the network rose 62 percent year on year. That number going up is the point. A workforce that reports small problems is a workforce that is not waiting for them to become large ones.
